Charlotte Dougherty and granddaughters Trielle (6 years old) and Aubri (4 years old) and their 5 year old AQHA mare You'd Wanna Be Me Too (AKA Roxie).

Charlotte is the founder/director of SpiritHorse Therapeutic Riding Center of the San Francisco Bay Area. She is also raising her granddaughters on my own. It was such a pleasure meeting and working with Charlotte and these sweet girls on this chilly October afternoon.

I was fascinated to learn more about Charlotte and SpiritHorse. SpiritHorse Riding Center is a nonprofit organization completely relying on support from the community. It was founded in 2012 by Charlotte. Their program is an all inclusive program open to riders of all abilities. Their lessons, camps, and classes are designed to improve the lives of children and adults who are facing developmental, emotional, social, and physical challenges.
